5/26/07- I finally got around to posting the childrens writing award underscore I worked on. You can find it in the video section. I also posted the main musical piece from that work. That can be found under the title "Childrens Music". Feel free to give feedback.
5/16/07- I just posted "Corruptum Imperium" my first choral work. You can find it under classical. It's sung by The Linfield Concert Choir. A word about the piece...
Corruptum Imperium is a picture of a dying world. A post apocalyptic snapshot of what could be. The choir sings of a grand and dark city that has been lost to its corrupt government. The despair it evokes is embodied by the line "christus absense huc" (Christ has left this place). Out of this despair strength rises up and the choice to overcome prevails. Corruptum Imperium can be perceived as an exaggeration of todays politics or as a completely fictional narration.
5/04/07- It's been a while since any updates here because my attention has been consumed by a choral piece I've been working on. This Sunday I'll be conducting its premier with the Linfield Concert Choir at the FBC on 125 SE Cowls St Mcminnville, OR 97128 I will be having it recording and posting the performance here shortly after. Another project I just finished was composing an underscore for a childrens writting contest. I'll post that as soon as I get the final cut.
1/24/07 (edited)- Two new songs up..."A Love Affair in Spain" has some strings and acoustic guitar. The second song is "Credit Roll" which is just piano but probably should be orchestrated. Also I found a dead link and repaired it. The repaired link is to "Verona Central". It's the first piece I composed with ewqlso (orchestral soundfont program). It starts out with a jazzy bar scene then progresses to some cool orchestral stuff. On a side note I was setting up a one composition a day schedule for myself. Im just currently to busy to maintain that so I wont be putting out quite as much as the prior post implied.
1/17/07- I just recently went through a move and finished rebuilding my studio. In the process I made myself a composition calender. This meaning Im making deadlines for myself to finish pieces. I have finished two pieces and will be uploading them within 24 hours and there should be lots more to come. I may make bulk uploads and wait to finish a few songs instead of uploading each one as I finish. What you should see in this upload are "A Gentle Ambience" a very floaty piece and "Schizophrenic" an experimental sounding piece.
12/19/06- A new song has just been posted under drama romance. I'm beginning to realize it's going to be tough to keep categorizing my work in the future. I say this because a lot of what I like to compose is really lush harmonies with epic instrumentation or gentle pretty minimal instrumentation making EVERYTHING sound like "drama/romance". Anyway the song is called An Unbrindled Lullaby. Im not huge on the title but I was tired of wasting time thinking of a better one. It's my first time composing for concert band and sorry for the crummy sax synth I dont have an nice ones : (
10/22/06- I just completed my first attempt at a comedic light hearted style piece. I have been changing it a lot these last couple weeks but I think this version feels right so it's going online! It's called "The Trumpet and The Flute" give it a listen. I have already begun the second movement of it which has a dark color which contrasts nicely.
Welcome to my new website! Thanks to Cameron at Seego
: Design for a great job on the designing and production of it. I
may as finances permit make the website a little more elaborate but either
way I am happy with how it's coming and I hope you are too! I am in the
process of deciding which of my pieces to post here. Some of them were
not given the proper time to get polished and produced to a professional
degree. This level of professionalism is the standard I want to begin
to establish. As I am trying to make the transition from a practicing
student of composition to a professional composer. I may for the time
being just post my newest works and make a link to my soundclick for my
old stuff...click on music and you can see what I decided! Please check
back every so often because I plan to post lots of new music every single
week. I'll be sure to post news saying I've done so for quick reference.
Also the resume section will be slow to develop as I would prefer to only
list a resume containing work in the composition field but as a student
it is limited so I may wait till it can be a bit fatter before posting
it.
